Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush in Exotic Pink- Swatches and Pictures

Estee Lauder is not your grandmother’s  stuff any more. In fact, if you are looking for color; or itching to spruce up your makeup routine- look no further than your local Lauder counter.

My homie Danielle alerted me when blushes released, and like the junkie that I am, I speed walked to Macy’s as soon as I was off work a few weeks ago.

Available in 16 shades, there is literally a hue for every woman. The texture is Read the rest of this entry »

Need a Pop of Color? Check out Sephora’s Double Contouring Blush in Flashy Fuschia- Swatches and Pictures

If you love color, this, my friends is for you. It goes on smoothly, after the color is applied your cheeks appear airbrushed. A little goes a very long way.

The cream blushes come in six different colors and range from apricot to poppy pink. There is a hue for every skin tone. Believe it or not, this also works for all skin types. If you have oily skin, prime first and set with a powder.

Here is how Sephora describes the blush:

This silky, contouring cream blush conditions and moisturizes the skin upon application while providing a flush of healthy color. The revolutionary blush sculpts in two ways: its Portulaca Complex smoothes, while the cream-to-powder finish contours cheekbones for a young, beautiful look. The weightless formula effortlessly blends into the skin and the micronized pigments provide eight hours of natural-looking, budge-proof color.

Check out these swatches- GORGEOUS!

You can apply with your fingers.I would recommend using a synthetic angled brush, such as Urban Decay’s  Good Karma blush brush.

These blushes are available at all Sephoras. They retail for $14, a steal- it will take you forever to finish this!

Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo Eyeshadows-Swatches, Pictures and Do They Really Last 24 Hours?

So curiosity got the best of me a few weeks a go. After watching numerous youtube videos and seeing magazine ads I decided to see what all the fuss was.

I picked up two  colors; painted purple and fierce tangy. Those were colors I could definitely see myself incorporating into my daily looks. Maybelline says that these shadows will deliver long lasting intense pigment, for 24 hours.

My first time trying them Read the rest of this entry »

Review: Bite Beauty Whipped Cherry Lip Scrub

Whipped Cherry Fruit Scrub

Bite Beauty sauntered on to the beauty scene with its lipsticks, balms and glosses packed with resveratrols (antioxidants found in red wines).  Since we undoubtedly end up eating many of the lip products we apply, loading products with antioxidants and other natural ingredients makes total sense.

Hence why I couldn’t resist purchasing Bite Beauty’s  whipped cherry lip scrub. I wear makeup at least 5 days out of the week. That usually consists of lip colors that are very pigmented. Bright pinks, rich reds and deep purples are what I often opt for. While these hues look great on, the after effects wreak total havoc on my pucker. I’m talking dry, flaky lips, leaving something to be desired.

Bite Beauty’s lip scrub has a post in el bano now for these rough situations. I apply it as soon as I step in the shower. I allow it to sit on my lips while I tend to other things. After a few minutes the warmth of the shower has loosened up the dead skin. I then take a warm wash cloth and sweep the struggles of the day away. The scrub also contains fruit acids rich in vitamin C and rice bran. Both brighten and keep the lips hydrated. The result? Soft, smooth, lips. I then follow with my current fave Super by Perricone Lush lips.

If your lips tend to be dry or like me, you abuse them- this is the product for you! All Bite products are free of parabens, synthetic dyes and fragrances.

M.A.C. Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick- Swatches and Pictures

Although this lipstick is a satin finish (my faves are cremesheen and amplified) I couldn’t resist snagging it when it released. Every single cent from the sale of Viva Glam goes toward helping women and children living with HIV/AIDS. The fact that I listen to Nicki’s music also made buying this non- negotiable. Luxuriate: Byredo Bal D’Afrique Eau de Parfum

I purchased this several months ago at Barneys;  it is safe to say I have more than fallen in love with this scent. The Byredo fragrance house was created in 2006 in Stockholm by Ben Gorham. I would consider the fragrances of Byredo niche scents. The bottles are simplistic, a contrast when compared to beautifully layered notes

While I have several Byredo scents on my to buy list, my first purchase was  Bal D’Afrique. A light, yet captivating vetiver mix. This, unlike many other scents in my collection is a floral, yet packs a punch with the base notes. Black Amber, Moroccan Cedarwood,Musk and Vetiver at the base  gives it a nice balance. It dries down to something very exotic, I enjoy wearing it on days I’m feeling flirty and it’s a great bed time fragrance.

Here are the rest of the notes:

Top: Bergamot, lemon, neroli, african marigold, bucchu

Heart: Violet, jasmin petals, cyclamen

Base: Black amber, musk, vetiver, moroccan cedarwood

Byredo’s description of the scent:

A warm and romantic vetiver inspired by Paris in the late 20′s and its infatuation with African culture, art, music and dance. A mix of the Parisian avantgardism and African culture shaped a unique and vibrant expression. The intense life, the excess and euphoria is illustrated by Bal d’Afrique’s neroli, African marigold and Moroccan cedarwood.

I’m anticipating my next scent purchase by Byredo. Have you tried any of their perfumes?
