Review: Benefit’s ‘FakeUp’ Concealer- Before and After Pictures Included
Never one to shy away from a yummy looking concealer I grabbed this up last week and was able to give it a test drive over the weekend.
Benefit long ago adopted a ‘fake it til you make it’ philosophy. This explains why they have a few concealers to choose from, and products like benetint (gives a beautiful flushed look). Fakeup rounds out their selection of cover ups; giving you three to choose from.
Fakeup is a hydrating crease control concealer; if you have grocery bags under your eyes (like me), this may grab your attention. It contains Vitamin E and apple seed extract; hiding fine lines and dark circles without settling into said crooks and crannies.
Benefit suggests stroking it straight from the tube; then use your ring finger to blend it out. Makes sense; but I, of course, was hasty and read the directions after I had worn it three times. I applied it from the tube, then used a really awesome fluffy concealer brush to blend it out. Even in the cold rainy weather it stayed put pretty well. My eyeliner is a different story. My only complaint is this only comes in three doggone colors. My shade is 3, the darkest. Wassup with that, Benefit?!
It covers my dark spots and circles well enough, and the texture is like butter! I must caution you, if you are prone to breakouts, this does contain oil. I have not had any adverse reactions, but everyones’ skin is different.
See for yourself.

I didn’t snap any pics with a full face. Well, honestly I was in my pajamas and decided I should shoot some pictures since I didn’t when I first used it. It does blend seamlessly under liquid or powder. The white stuff you see is my sunscreen. Never leave home without it, kids.
If you get a chance to try it, let me know your thoughts!
