For the past three weeks I have taken the opportunity test drive StriVectin-AR Advanced Retinol Night Treatment. While there are countless retinol treatments available over the counter, StriVectin has come up with one that has a one-two punch.

The point of difference?  This treatment combines retinol with the niacin molecule. The niacin molecule keeps the skin strong and healthy. I’m no scientist, so there is a good chance if you are reading this you may not be either.

So let me break this down for you.

Niacin combined with retinol yields less irritation; it refines pores, and improves the texture of your skin. While you sleep (retinol should only be used at night)  significantly reduces deep set wrinkles and fine lines, hydrates and deeply nourishes the skin.

I, thankfully, do not have deep set wrinkles, so I cannot speak to seeing an improvement from that aspect.

What I did notice is my skin was noticeably smoother and extremely supple. Unlike some other retinol products I have used before; I didn’t experience any irritation, dry or peeling patches of skin. I think the aforementioned is very important to note as it winter and very cold here in NYC. So even during bitter temps, running heat that zaps every ounce of moisture from the skin,my skin was still moisturized. I have acne prone skin and didn’t experienced any reactions. The texture is light, and creamy. Not too rich, definitely good for all skin types. If you are more on the dryer side apply the treatment first, then follow up with a moisturizer.
