Current Obsession: Blingy,Chunky Clip-on Earrings
If I think about it, in the past 7 or 8 months I have had a constant urge to buy things that remind me of my grandma in the 80′s. I remember a shelf in her bathroom completely littered with perfume bottles. I don’t think her ears were ever pierced, but she always had cute clip ons.
Which reminds me the next time I’m at her house I must pilfer through her accessories, I’m sure she won’t mind.
In fact, while in Paris
waiting for my flight, I stopped by a duty free shop and had a sniff of Cacharel’s Anais Anais. Say what you want, but the scent immediately made me think of a time when when women cared more about their appearance before they even went grocery shopping. I snapped up a bottle at Boot’s once I got to London. While my great grandmother never wore perfume or makeup (she was a devout old school Pentecostal church member) but she always had fancy soaps in her bathroom. She always had us check before church to be sure her slip wasn’t hanging and that her dress wasn’t longer than her coat.
I’m saying all of the aforementioned to say, I cannot get enough of gaudy clip ons! Even with a crisp white tee, my favorite skinny jeans and a big sweater they make me feel like my grandma must feel when she wears her full length mink coat.
My favorites have come from Jewelmint and Forever 21. Both are inexpensive, F21 has endless options.
Flower clip on earrings, available here.
To purchase from Jewelmint you must be a member. You can sign up here.
My only problem is clip ons are not comfortable AT ALL. Is there something I should be doing before I put them on so that they don’t squeeze my ears?
